Sacramento River

From Redding to Corning this river offers a variety of fishing fun for young and old.

King Salmon Fishing - From August 10th through October most fish caught over 20 lbs - several in the 30's and 40's with some 50 to 60's. River and state record - 88 lbs!

Wild Trout - Although open all year I usually fish this area in the Spring and Fall using a variety of methods. It is not unusual to catch and release 20 to 30 nice rainbows in a trip - most 2 to 3 lbs - a few 5+ lbs and occasionally up to 10 lbs.

American Shad - Perhaps the most fun for the whole family. These Silver Bullets hit hard and surface many times leaping across the water. Not unusual to catch and release 50+ fish per day during a good run.

Striped Bass - Excellent fishing from March 15 to May 15 in the Colusa area. These stripers' line burning runs are legendary. Fish run from 5 to 50 lbs.
